Visit Blowing Rock in the Winter

Wintertime offers a variety of fun in the high country!

Skiing and snowboarding at Beech, Sugar Mountain, or App Ski? Take a break from the snowy conditions to see the warmth of colors in Martin House Gallery. We are open nearly daily from 10am-5pm.

Glen Burney Falls Trail is located just steps from our quaint gallery, so you can go for a hike as well. This trail is approximately 2 miles and is an out and back trail that leads to various waterfalls. It is perfect for a photo op, as the trail is wide and easily traversed for families.

The Speckled Trout is one of my personal favorite restaurants in town, as is Hellbender. Both have spectacular options for lunch and dinner and are walking distance to the gallery.

Monkee's is a very popular and beautiful boutique for women to explore. The shopping in Blowing Rock is unparalled!

WinterFest is right around the corner in the little, quaint town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Locals and tourists alike gather for a Polar Bear Plunge at Chetola Resort and Spa. This will take place January 27, 2024. If you are up for the challenge, take a cold plunge into Chetola Lake after they break the ice up for you. However, if you would prefer, come to Bald Guy Brew just up the street for hot cocoa and delicious coffee! After you have your warm beverage, venture to the historic, butter yellow Martin House. Right upstairs, out of the chaos of the WinterFest, will be the coziest little gallery you could imagine.

Martin House Gallery is proudly located in Blowing Rock, one of North Carolina's most charming tourism cities.

While we are not jumping in Chetola Lake, we will be staying warm in our heated art gallery. Come in and see landscape oils of mountains, seas, and forests. We are so proud of our artists'. We would love to be a part of your holiday and winter adventures.

Much Love!!
