Artist • Designer • Author • Publisher • Keynote Speaker

William Mangum is one of North Carolina’s most recognized artists and creative entrepreneurs. Beginning his professional career while a student at UNCG, he has built an expansive 40-year journey that spans art, design, publishing, and keynote speaking.

His travels through England, Italy, Greece, and beyond have inspired paintings collected worldwide, while his vivid portrayals of North Carolina’s landscapes have earned him the title “North Carolina’s Artist.” His eight books, two films, and exhibitions — including a solo show at the North Carolina Museum of History — reflect his creative versatility.

William’s artwork has enhanced the brands of Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Lincoln Financial, often paired with his inspiring keynote programs. His design sensibility also led to Carolina Preserves, an artist-inspired home collection with Klaussner Home Furnishings that evolved into successful lines of furniture, lighting, and rugs.

A passionate philanthropist, William founded The Honor Card program, now in its 38th year, which has raised nearly $12 million for agencies serving the homeless and needy across North Carolina. Featured on NBC’s Evening News – Making a Difference, the program continues to exemplify his belief that art can be a powerful voice for compassion and change.
